Founded in 1919, Save the Children work to help children stay safe, healthy and learning in 100 countries around the world. We took part in their annual Christmas Jumper Day, showing off our best festive knits and raising over £100 in support of the charity’s work.Donate here
We encourage and support employee volunteering and fundraising through our corporate volunteering initiative of ‘Days to Make a Difference’. This allows staff to spend one day of paid time per year participating in fundraising and volunteering activity during working hours. Staff have volunteered their time at Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate and The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract. Our employees say:
"I think it’s important to volunteer within the community as it demonstrates our culture and values."
"It is great to work with colleagues to achieve useful and helpful goals, such as painting benches and maintaining the gardens."
In March 2019, we launched our sponsorship of the WFA with a charity football match which raised £200 for the WFA’s charity partner, Prostate Cancer UK. A team made up of Pure Retirement staff competed against an all-star team of players from the national over-50s and 60s teams to an audience including the inventor of walking football John Croot and members from the Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme, a community group offering varied activities for older people to help alleviate loneliness and promote active lifestyles.Donate here
